Lujans Lunch

Plagued by that ago old question, Where to Go Eat after Church?, we landed on Lujans. Located at 101st and Slide Road, Lujan's serves a "Texican" Feast and will soon be open on Mondays too! On Modays they will be serving free margaritas all day long our waiter told us.

Even though they were busy and there were other people waiting, because there are so many of us, we got to go sit at the big round table right when we walked inside.

Atmosphere
It's a fun, friendly place. It looked awesome. I really liked the statues and vases on the divider. The vase looked like a crocodile bit it or something - really cool.
We like the music too. Our baby brother kept dancing to it.

Entertainment
They ran out of colorsheet/kids menus, but they gave us some crayons and white paper so that we could draw our own pictures, but as soon as the chips and salsa arrived, we were sort of done coloring. Then we got some queso too - yummy!
After we ordered our food, it didn't take long at all for our food to come out. There wasn't a lot of time to wait.

Menu
There were so many choices on the kids menu, everything from chicken bits to tamales to choose from. It was great to choose from so many different things. We ordered an enchilada, a tamale, burrito and Addison just had rice and beans because that's her favorite.

Food
The chips were warm and wonderful. We really liked the salsa, but the queso was our definite favorite. We always like the cheese sauce.

Preston loves tamales. "They were so yummy," he said. Our baby brother ate all of his beans and then all of our moms too! He really liked those beans.

The best part about the food was what came last - fried icream with carmel and chocolate. It came with 4 forks and we kept pasing it in a circle until it was all gone. We all said how much we loved tht ice cream. It was a big treat and really exciting to get to have it.

Price
We saw the Kids Eat Free sign on the way in the door and it sort of made our parents want to come back for dinner too.

Prices range from about $3 for kids meals to about $15 for a steak meal.

Service
Lujan's has been in Lubbock for 20 years and our waiter, Noel, has been at Lujans for 14 of those. He knows the menu by heart - that was cool when he told us eveything on the kids menu. He kept moving so fast and helping a lot of other people too. Other people helped us too by bring more chips, extra napkins, and that kind of thing.

Overall
Clayton loved the fried ice cream so much he said, "This place gets an A+ from me for sure! wow" and the other kids agreed too!

- Clayton (8), Preston (6), Addison (5) and Trenton (2)

After watching the first episode of Nickelodean iCarly, where the main character decides to do a web show, my kids decided that they would like to do a "show". Choosing to share our experiences with others, sounded like a really fun idea.
