I told the guys who run the baseball and softball league in our town that I was willing to help with whatever they needed, but I've never played sports, so running a clip board was really what I'd be most suited for. They called and asked me to coach girls softball anyway.
My husband stepped in. The girls loved it. He loved it. Most of all our daughter loved it.
After the season was over a local go-cart place offered to let the team have a party there. The girls and their dads played and laughed and giggled and chased. It was a great way to spend an afternoon.
