Once my kids didn't need me to drive them around any more the number of photos I have of them dropped dramatically. I love photos of my kids. Taking photos of them is something that I'm really , REALLY good at doing.

To increase my photo count and my connection with them throughout certain times of the year, I started a text challenge. First kid to answer a riddle, text back a photo, send me a link wins a prize.

I always set a deadline. First. Best. Everyone who XYZ before 5PM. You get the idea.

Then I Venmo the money or tell them to find the prize on their bed, in my office, etc.

It's been fun to see what they come up with and how they interact with each other too!

What to Text

Welcome to the “Finals Here” Scavenger Hunt.
The rules are as follows
You will receive challenges over the next week at random times. The first to send photo proof will win a prize.
Each challenge will expire after 24 hours if no participant has a winning entry.
Prizes will range in amounts from a Venmo to gift cards
In the event of a tie, Dad will have the final say over who wins - because he’s Dad.

May the odds be ever in your favor! Finish the year strong.

Really, I never thought that I'd say, "... table for 6, please." going to dinner with my family. I had plans to be a professor and travel the world. I moved from Missouri to West Texas for graduate school and was just passing through, when I met a man that captivated my heart and held my hand.

Both teachers at the time, we met before Spring Break, got engaged the day after school was out and got married over Thanksgiving Break. And we shared our wedding cake top with the Labor and Delivery nurses in the hospitial when our oldest child was born. Our courtship was quick and it was exciting. And I don't think that we'd trade any of it for what we thought it might be.

This magical adventure is more amazing than anything that I had planned.
