There's something I just love about the first football game of the season. It was my little brother first football game this weekend. It was awesome to watch him play!

Tonight was our last swim class and we had so much fun. It was awesome. We all really, really liked our classes. Preston and Addison were in the same class. Their class was teaching them better swimming skills. They jumped into the water from the edge, swam using big arms and fast legs, and even jumped into the pool from the diving board! Their teacher, Victor, was so nice too. Clayton's class was full of girls! He was the only boy besides the teacher. But he learned so much - even a little about diving in head first! His favorite part was going off the diving board! He wants to do the next level class next summer. Trenton was in a Parent and Me class just to get him comfortable in the water. They played games, sang songs and tried to get the babies to put their faces in the water. Trenton's favorite part was chasing the ball alog the top of the water. The fish that sank to the bottom weren't that cool to him because he didn't want to go under water to get them back. He also really enjoyed playing with the other kids - especially the little girls it seemed like. Twilight Camp is for Cub Scouts. This year it was held at the PASS center in Lubbock each evening.
We did bow and arrows, shot bb guns, learned how to use a compass and had a water balloon launch from a cannon. There was even a snack bar! The camp was so much fun. I'm really glad that I got to go and learn all of that fun stuff. I think that I was the only Tiger Cub there - that means I was the youngest person. Cub Scouts will be so fun next year! - Preston (6) More Info: Camp http://www.southplainscouncil.org/documents/ChaparralTwilightCamp.pdf Tiger Cubs http://www.southplainscouncil.org/TigerCubs.htm Cub Scouts http://www.southplainscouncil.org/CubScouts.htm In the middle of the day, Levi Stinson, owner and operator of the Shallow Ice stand in Shallowater was quite busy. This is his first week to be open this summer and it seems that the people in Shallowater were ready for him to open once again. The shaved ice stand consists of an unbrella, two chairs and a table loaded with an ice machine and a great selection of flavors - like pina colada, tigers blood, bubble gum and more... We ordered two tigers blood, a bubble gum and just a cup of yummy shaved. It took quite awhile to get the fourth cup because Levi had to get a new block of ice - and it was giant! it looked like the bottom of a soda can, kind of. It was well worth the wait. That ice was really smooth and it just tasted great. We brought the shaved ice back home to enjoy them. "The best part about my shaved ice was the flavor," said Preston - by Clayton Overall The service was super friendly. The owner is not a grown up, which is cool for kids. The ice is amazing. It was cool seeing the big block of ice getting turned into little pieces of snow. The flavors are delicious. I think that tiger blood is the best. AuthorsAfter watching the first episode of Nickelodean iCarly, where the main character decides to do a web show, my kids decided that they would like to do a "show". Choosing to share our experiences with others, sounded like a really fun idea. SuscribeConnectArchives
