I've seen posts on Pinterest and my favorites blogs about this new Halloween idea and I've always wanted to to be "Boo'ed". It just looked like so much fun so when it happened, I was elated.
The other night we heard a knock at the door, the dog went nuts, and the kids just looked at each other for a minute. It was after dark and they couldn't imagine who was at the door. When Dad answered the door, there was nothing but a basket of goodies. The treats had a note attached explaining that we'd been "Boo'ed" I've seen posts on Pinterest and my favorites blogs about this new Halloween idea and I've always wanted to to be "Boo'ed". It just looked like so much fun so when it happened, I was elated. I gathered up some items we had at home, printed out the adorable tags from TomKat, and ran to get more treats to add to the baskets we were going to leave on someones door step. Tonight we ran around town dropping off our treats and trying not to get caught. We almost had more fun dropping off the treats than we did the night we found our amazing boo basket. The kids don't think that they will be able to make it through the day tomorrow without blabbing.

Santa brought me a Gummy Candy Maker for Christmas and while we are snowed in we thought we'd give it a try. They were delicious and so easy to make. We used knox gelatin and sugar free cherry for our first batch. The entire batch only had 15 calories! The bears and worms only lasted a few minutes here so we are off to make batch #2!

For a cool treat on a really hot day, our mom took us to Bahama Bucks. My sister said that she had a coupon, but it expired like a year ago... the things that girl keeps in her purse! But we got a punch card and filled it almost half way up with just one visit! MENU They have snow cones, ice cream, smoothies, and even "sno balls." The flavors come in all sorts of types - including sugar free. My mom even got a cup of fruit! TURNING TOUNGES The flavors were all so good; we shared bites with each other. After a little while our tounges turned colors so we stuck them out but our omo wouldn't take a picture. BRAIN FREEZZE One thing you have to be careful about at Bahama Bucks is eating it too fast that you get a brain freeze. But if you do get a brain freeze, just stick your tounge on the roof of your mouth to warm it all up again. OVERALL You can't beat a great snow cone on a hot day and with all of the flavor choices, Bahama Bucks is great. You can even get a party pack and take snow cones for your whole group... hint, hint - mom More Information

We have lots of favorites - like the bagel dogs and the ice cream. We don't have to go to the grocery store for that long when we get stuff from the Schwans Man either, but we really like it when our mom lets us go out to the truck to help get the stuff because the Schwan's man can make it snow! We went to the Museum at Texas Tech tonight for a special program for kids, Bedtime at the Museum. It was light outside tough. We even wore our pajama's to the Museum. That was sort of funny. We really like the museum. Upstairs there were lots of paintings about baseball. My baby brother just kept saying base-ball whenever he would see a ball in the picture. That was funny. My sister told the man at the desk that he sure had "some amazing paintings." He thought that was kind of funny. They thought it was sort of funny too when we asked them if they played fetch with the big dinosaurs after the museum closed like in Night at the Museum. They said sure, but I don't think that they really do. maybe We walked around the museum while we waited and looked at all the neat cool stuff. My sister liked the old dresses, but that part wasn't totally open yet. When it was time we went back to explore-a-tarium and we played with trains and looked at bones and eggs... then it was time to sit and listen to the story. There were a bunch of kids there and we all sat on nap mats to listen to the story. It was a story about baseball (by Alex Rodriguez). A boy practices a lot to be really good at baseball and his team won the championship. It was a good story. After that we went into the room and made a pennant with our names on it. We got to decorate them however we wanted. Then we got a stick to put them on so that we could wave them around. My brother waved his too much outside and my dad had to run fast to chase it down before the wind blew it across the street. My brother was screaming, almost crying and my dad took off running... he caught it though. When we were almost done decorating the pennants, they brought us cookies and juice as a bedtime snack. We ate cookies and hadn't even had supper yet. That was fun. In the middle of the day, Levi Stinson, owner and operator of the Shallow Ice stand in Shallowater was quite busy. This is his first week to be open this summer and it seems that the people in Shallowater were ready for him to open once again. The shaved ice stand consists of an unbrella, two chairs and a table loaded with an ice machine and a great selection of flavors - like pina colada, tigers blood, bubble gum and more... We ordered two tigers blood, a bubble gum and just a cup of yummy shaved. It took quite awhile to get the fourth cup because Levi had to get a new block of ice - and it was giant! it looked like the bottom of a soda can, kind of. It was well worth the wait. That ice was really smooth and it just tasted great. We brought the shaved ice back home to enjoy them. "The best part about my shaved ice was the flavor," said Preston - by Clayton Overall The service was super friendly. The owner is not a grown up, which is cool for kids. The ice is amazing. It was cool seeing the big block of ice getting turned into little pieces of snow. The flavors are delicious. I think that tiger blood is the best. AuthorsAfter watching the first episode of Nickelodean iCarly, where the main character decides to do a web show, my kids decided that they would like to do a "show". Choosing to share our experiences with others, sounded like a really fun idea. SuscribeConnectArchives
